DIY desk

As the kiddies get bigger and start using the computer more, the husb gets busier and has more paperwork and I attempt to study in between working on my blog and everyday life, I’ve realized we need a proper desk/work station. Naturally I’ve been busy on Pinterest with an “officespo” board full of gorg workspaces and a brain overflowing with ideas! After looking at several store bought options and not being 100% satisfied with anything I’ve used this pic;

from Pretty Providence as the basis for my DIY desk.

I’m opting for a double chair size so will use 3 bookcases, that way half the desk can be for computer usage and the other for drawing/paperwork. Anywho, I think I can get it all done-chairs and all for around $250 which is soooo much more budget friendly than any option I’ve come across. Now to get it happening!

3 x 3 tier black bookshelf @ $17ea from Kmart

MDF interior door $28.90 from Bunnings, to use as a desk top-I can’t find anything big enough and wide/deep enough to give me the room I need
Target has these fab Louis Ghost chairs, 2 for $99 which I wanted for our kitchen table but husb doesn’t like so I’ll sneak them in for the desk instead!
When one has ghost chairs at their desk, one must have sheepskins on said chairs in order to be stylin’ and chic ? IKEA has these budget friendly faux sheepskins for $19.99ea which will be fab for us with 3 small sticky fingered peeps.

I’ll pick up a few decorative storage items from Kmart to finish it off and pretty it up a bit.

All I need now is to buy above items and get husb to move the toy box out of the way…I can’t wait! And I’ll be posting pics when it’s done ?
