Victorian School Holiday fun!

EEEEEK!!! It’s only a week until the kiddies are home for term 3 hols…that sounds like they are at boarding school! I just mean home, as in no school for two…whole…weeks… Whilst I welcome the holidays with open arms, or the idea of the holidays with open arms- I mean who’s babies aren’t waaaay overtired at the moment and needing a break? So, I’m happy it’s holiday time, but what to do for the hols? There is only so much relaxing small peeps are into, unless us grown ups who revel in a sleep in and pj day! Here are a few ideas for things to do, some we will be doing, some just sound really fun but don’t work in with our schedule.

  • Charity Screening of The Secret Life Of Pets…my kids have been excited about this movie since they saw previews way back near the start of the year so there is no question that we will be attending this screening on Sunday 18th September at Fountain Gate Village Cinemas.

“Kickstart the school holidays with family & friends at a private screening of ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ (from the makers of ‘Minions’) – sponsored by Berwick Ford. Each ticket includes a goodie bag (with lollies & a drink), giveaways of Sipahh flavoured straws plus Hart & Soul Soups PLUS the chance to win a fantatsic door prize & of course lots of laughs! We will also have raffles running on the day so don’t forget some loose change & the lovely team from Chobani will be on hand with some delicious samples. This event is being held as fundraiser for further research into the kidney disorder Nephrotic Syndrome at Monash Childrens Hospital while also raising awareness on the importance of blood, organ & tissue donation as part of #robbieandkobes”

  • Sky High Mt Dandenong School Holiday Fun…from the 18th-30th September Sky High Mt Dandenong has organised a massive array of activities for kiddies of all ages all of which are free (car fees apply for entry), so hit up this gorgeous part of the world for some fab fun!

This year’s Spring activities include:CFA Display and Badge-Making; Treasure Hunt; Black Snake Reptile Display; Mini Golf; Face Painting; Gardening Activities; Farmyard Friends; Ruccis Circus Workshop; Cooking Classes; Scratch Art; Didgeridoo lessons; Pony rides; Sand Art; Formula One Racing Cars; Magician; Train Rides; Stilt Walkers; Jumping Castle; Games and Music with a Fairy.

  • Little Devils Muddy Fun Run…September 24th, 2kms of muddy fun, running and obstacles! We did this last holidays and the kids LOVED it, even the lady who doesn’t like to get dirty got amongst it and had a ball! This time round it’s being held at the Pakenham Racecourse which ensures plenty of room to go cray cray!
  • And if you can’t make that date, there is another being held on the 8th October in Moorooduc. This is a charity event raising money for research into Nephrotic Syndrome, find out more here…big kids, aka grown ups are able to participate in this one which is geared towards older kids (10+). Hubby desperately wants in on this after seeing it happening when the kids did it last hols, so it is a lot of fun!
