With the countdown to Christmas now on in earnest…24 sleeps to go…eeeeek!!!! It’s time to get your theme on and happening, if you havent already. I’ve chosen A Very Rose Christmas this year, with the popularity both within our house and without, of Rose. I would adore a pink tree like Sam’s of AWW SAM:
but with being away for a good part of the leadup I just can’t justify the cost, plus have kinda run out of time, so I will either completely cover our normal purchase of a real live tree in pink or get a white faux tree and pink it right up!
As you do when planning any sort of event, I have taken to Pinterest to create a mood board of ideas and inspiration for this rosy Christmas….I’ve pinned tree inspo, decor inspo, table setting inspo and finally food and wine pairings, but that will come next week with some help from my friends at Vinomofo!
Cotton On/Typo is always a fab place to start for inexpensive decorations and wrapping paper. They have some gorgeous rolls of pink Xmas paper and lots of awesome tree decos that I just love, in particular the donut and icecream ones!
This gorgeous dessert table backdrop from a wedding that was featured over at Style Me Pretty, has helped me pinpoint my colour scheme to exact colours rather than just ‘pink’.
Kmart has fab foil backdrops in gold and silver for just $5 each, see them here, so I’ll be nabbing a few of these to trim up and use in a backdrop similar to this one above. The beauty of using these non-traditional Christmas colours, despite matching the vino we will be quaffing, is that they will work for the entire month of events which include my birthday and New Years Eve as well as Christmas. I’ve found a couple of other wall backdrop inspo pics too for different areas of the house…
The balloon sections of Spotlight and Kmart will also be heavily visited to make a balloon wall (v.risky!!!) and balloon garlands. As excited as I am to be in Perth, I’m so excited to get home too and DECORATE!!!!
Stay tuned for next Friday for my menu and wine pairings! Happy Friday and enjoy a rose!
