The small people and I are heading to the tennis on Tuesday. And no, I probably couldn’t have picked a hotter day (the forecast for Melbs is 38!!!) to be going, but it is what it is….things to do and Tuesday is the day to do them #staytuned I feel like I need some tennis attire, part tennisy, part keep me protected from the sun powerful rays, part be super comfy and part go the whole day without looking terrible by the end! Not too much to ask from one outfit is it?!
I’ve headed to The Iconic for some pieces, because well they deliver almost immediately so I’ll have what I purchase in time for Tuesday. Let me know what you think…I’m very undecided!!
Castaway Raffia Trilby in Turquoise by BeforeDark $69.95…hint of turquoise to tie in with the tee
Tropicana Tee by Tee Ink $44.95…who doesn’t love a slogan tee?! Also in a tank style, but tee means covered (non burnt) shoulders
Flow Paper Bag Shorts by Tee Ink $54.95…because paper bag waist, wear them high & drawn in, wear them low & loose 😉
Stan Smith in white & pink $150…cos I mean, hello…Stan Smith…tennis…they go together like…
Nike Internationalist Signal Muscle Tank $45…getting my sporty on 😉
Lightweight Cotton Skort by Maison Scotch $74.94 (sale)…light cotton equals breathable, elastic waist equals comfy
Nike Womens Tennis Classic $120…where else does one wear a tennis shoe ‘cept at the tennis afterall?!
Heritage 86 Cap by Nike $30…because head to toe Nike & you might get mistaken for a player 😉
Demi Lux Tee Dress by Atmos&Here $39.95…bargain price, stripes, loose & breezy, perfection
Parry by Fantasy $159.95…how gorgeous are they?!
The Straw Bambi by Fallen Broken Street $89.95…because one must wear a hat, but one doesn’t want to also be rude by wearing a gigantic hat 😉
Which ensemble is your fave? Or do you just love a single piece? I’m loving 1 & 3 the most if one can play favourites. A pair of short bike shorts is a good trick under a dress for those “mermaids” among us…ie.if you don’t have a gaping thigh gap!!! Some essentials to take with you…sunscreen, water-make sure you keep hydrated, a hand fan so one is not fanning themselves with a newspaper and getting ink everywhere (!), a facial mist/spray is always good especially if pre-chilled and a lightweight scarf/sarong to protect shoulders from the sun and wrap around once the sun starts to go down.
There is so much to see and do at the Australian Open aside from the tennis…check out the essentials guide here for all the things to see and do. Print out a map too so you can navigate your way around the place, it’s huge!
Finally, who are your tips to win the Open? Hope to see you there 🙂 xx
