Yay, it’s fave things Friday time! This must be a record for me…sticking to something for 11 weeks! I’ve got some cool bits and bobs for you this week, as per usual really 😉 I’m enjoying this fave things series, let’s me share other’s posts, things that are on that I either recommend or really want to go to and then something fun to watch (generally my fave song of the week!). This week I’ve been doing a couple of challenges over on instagram, one a fashion challenge that I posted about on Monday and the other an instagram improvement one by Jenna Kutcher. It’s really making me think!
Yesterday we had to think of 5 things that make us who we are, I found it quite difficult so put it out there on my personal facebook page for my friends and family to comment. The answers ranged from potato salad (my personal fave answer!) to funny/sarcastic and fashionista coffeeholic! How would you sum yourself up in 3 sentences with 5-8 titbits that explain who you are and what you’re about? #foodforthought Here is the summation of me in 3 sentences…let me know what you think xx
Liz is a proud Frankston’ite who is happiest living near water. She is obsessed with coffee, fashion, food and family adventures. Blogging, for this overly emotional wife, mumma of three and homebody, is a place to share the things she loves in life. xx
*yes that’s 9 hints of who I am but hey, I always do things a bit differently don’t I?! So onto my fave things for the Friday 🙂
If you’re looking for something to do Sunday evening, why not meet up with me at The Melba Spiegeltent for the After Hours Cabaret Club. I’ve been invited along to review it, yippee!! Returning from a season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the show includes burlesque, cabaret, sideshow and circus acts including Zelia Rose – Dita Von Teese’s The Art Of Tease, Betty Grumble – Green Room Award Winner and David Splatt – Australia’s Got Talent Finalist. Get you tickets here…and let me know if you’re coming!
I love Nikki Parkinson’s (Styling You) Model & Me series. She shows the clothes the work just as well on a curvier model as they do on the models used for campaign shoots. This post was about the Motto bodycon skirt which I’m a HUGE fan of and am wearing in my #10x10capsulestyle challenge. Nikki is an avid supporter of Australian business, and Motto is the very definition of this. Family owned and the entire design and manufacturing process takes place right here in Melbourne!!!!! How rad is that?! #shoplocal
I am loving this gentle but effective pink bamboo clay mask at the moment. It was gifted to me by Bare Mud but I know once I’ve powered through this packet I’ll be restocking at my own expense! That’s how much I love it! Perfect for sensitive skins (aka mine), it detoxifies and hydrates leaving my skin feeling plumper, clearer and smoother. I’m really keen to try the jasmine + apricot face oil to use after it to maximise the effect. Is Friday your day to facemask? Friday tends to me my beauty day, tan and mask while doing my house stuff!
Bare Mud is a small Australian business, passionate about natural, vegan and cruelty free skin care and supporting local. They source their ingredients and packaging from within Australia which I just love. Buying Australian is one thing, but buying Australian from a business who sources from other Australian businesses is just amazing. Sure we can buy cheaper from overseas but what are we doing to our local economy and communities? #shoplocal
Post burgers last night, we headed into YoMG for some dessert and I tried their latest flavour combo- pear and lavender. It was super yummo! Loved the flavour combination so naturally I headed to Pinterest to find a recipe that appealed to me. Enter Lavender Panna Cotta with Honey Poached Pears by Cafe Johnsonia. It probably won’t be an after work quick whip up, more a weekend playing in the kitchen but it doesn’t sound beyond the realm of possibility for me!
The latest in carpool karaoke with James Corden, Katy Perry talking her latest hair, the Tay Tay feud and rocking amaze eyeliner! #bodyroll 😉
Have a fabulous Friday and weekend, week ahead and all that and I’ll catch you soon xx
Ps.what do you think of my latest insta bio? That was Day 1 of the challenge, to work on that!
