What to wear to the Australian Open 2018… white lace

I first did this post two years ago but last year and now again as the Australian Open approaches, it starts getting more and more views. So I thought it best I do an updated post so we all know what to wear to the tennis this year. Or what I would be wearing should I attend anyways. Two words. White lace. Wow. Didn’t see that coming did you?! She who is anti white and anti “pretty” is actually spruiking white lace. Why? Well…it all goes back to…

This fantastic pair of white lace culottes I bought a couple of years ago. I loved them and bought them thinking they would probs just sit in my cupboard (I don’t always make good decisions when online Shopping) yet they have been one of my fave pairs of pants ever getting paired with everything from grungy tees, to pretty camis and kimonos. They really are fabulous and versatile and I don’t even get dirty in them! (apologies for lack of better photo, you can see a tiny glimpse of them here so you know what I’m referring to!)

White always looks so fresh and gives the illusion of being cool even when you’re sweltering, and trust me if I attend the tennis you can guarantee the temp will reach High 30’s….EVERY SINGLE TIME. This is not a joke, every time I’ve gone to the tennis it’s suddenly been the hottest day of the tournament. Sorry y’all. Maybe keep an eye out for when I’m going and don’t go that day πŸ˜‚ White lace has the extra benefits of all I’ve noted above but being lace, never looks wrinkly or crushed which is a big downside of anything white for me. Plus it’s more likely to be polyester based fabric so stains slide on off much more easily. Not based on experience or anything…

Whilst my pants are seasons old, I have rounded up some stunning pieces for you which I’ll follow with how to wear them. For what it’s worth, I feel like white lace has four main ways it can be worn:

1. As part of an all white ensemble. White head to toe in varying textures and shades to stop the sterile effect.

2. With tan accessories for a polished, put together look that Princesses Kate and Meghan would totally be seen in.

3. With denim to pretty it up. A pale chambray distressed short, jean or skirt looks perfect against the prettiness of a white lace top or kimono.

4. Paired with black leather. From biker jacket over a frock, to leather skirts, shorts or pants with a lace top, it’s the perfect Kate Moss juxtaposition. And my personal fave.

I’ve handpicked some of my fave pieces online at the moment for you…
