Truth time. Not long after I had Anna, our 3rd and last baby, I started going to the gym heaps, running a fair bit and lost all my baby weight and was looking quite good and feeling it too. Fast forward a year, I injured my knee and stopped everything. Obvs the weight piled on a bit and I started feeling quite uncomfy. Not uncomfy enough to do anything much about it, just enough that I refused to wear bathers anymore.
Last summer, as in that of 2016/17 I didn’t actually go swimming once. I didn’t don bathers of any sort as I was feeling all sorts angsty about how I would look in them and thus just sat on the beach watching everyone else have fun in the water. Even when we went to Western Australia December just gone I didn’t take bathers either. And people it’s kinda warm over that side of the country! The kids didn’t say too much when we hit the beach being used to it, hubby just rolled his eyes as usual but my sis got stuck into me. Why wasn’t I going swimming, why wouldn’t I wear bathers? My reasoning was met with a bit of an unsympathetic response which whilst I got upset about a bit at the time, did send me straight down to the shops where I purchased a pair of bathers. After all, what was I showing my girls if I was so self conscious about my perfectly fine body that I wouldn’t wear bathers at all and have fun with them? The bathers I bought were a plain black one piece. I generally have issues with one pieces as I have a long torso, but they do provide more coverage and that was my main priority. Since buying them, I have actually been swimming with my babes every time we’ve gone to the beach which is pleasing them no end. And I am trying really hard to not be so self conscious. My body is what it is. I could improve it with a better diet and more exercise but for now this is what it is and it’s not terrible.
Now I have this one pair of bathers, I’ve been looking at more (naturally, a girl likes options!) and when SurfStitch launched their latest sale, I knew it was a match made in heaven…or the ocean 😉 Simply spend $100 and SAVE 40% on sale items!!!!
